WHAT
WE DO

PROGRAMS & PROJECTS.

The goal of the YWCA Haïti is to promote the leadership of women and girls in Haiti, so they can contribute to the development of their communities and country. Our main focus is on three key issues: education, health and leadership.

Education

Young girls aged 5 to 18 have daily access to academic support, computer skills, and robotics classes, reading skills as well as non-formal “life skills” workshops.

Health

Collaborating with its health partners for years, the YH is able to offer all participants various health services every year, free of charge:

  • HIV tests and medical/psychological follow up if needed

  • Deworming treatments twice a year

  • Covid-19 testing and medical support

  • Nutritional support (vitamins, medication,…)

  • Individual, group and family psychosocial support

  • Dental care (once a year)

  • Eye care (once a year)

  • Skin and hair workshops with products or medication

Leadership

The YH believes that women and girls can be agents of change in their communities. That is why investing in their education and training, empowering them to become leaders, has been the focus of its programs, setting good examples of leadership.
