The YWCA Haiti organized on Saturday August 5th, 2023, its very first edition of the Spectacle Rire Aux Éclats” (Laugh Out Loud Show), a fundraising initiative which aimed to create a space of relaxation and entertainment in the midst of all these stressful situations that we are experiencing in Haiti. Comedians, local dancers, and singers served the public extraordinary performances and a moment of indescribable joy. The artists made us experience a moment like no other: The comedian GodArt in his humor described the behavior of Haitian parents towards their children, and many other realities that are familiar to us in Haitian culture. Two participants from the Youth Center represented the evolution of Haitian music through a choreography ranging from Yanvalou (root music) to Haitian Hip Hop. And, finally, the young singer Eliakim with his vibrant voice closed the show with the music of Belo, renowned Haitian singer, entitled: “L’Histoire Drôle” (The funny story). Laughter, entertainment, and the ability to relate were the expressions that described the way the public embraced this first edition.
As a great first, the evening was truly a success and the YH team wishes to make this initiative an annual event. We take this opportunity to thank our sponsors: Culligan, Tropic S.A, Bazilic Ayiti, Reyel communication, who thanks to them this first edition was possible and was appreciated by more than one.
See you next year!
